In addition to the conventions that have been stated above, there are some extras conventions that haven't been mentioned, which are:
Lip syncing; Which a very conventional and most important part of the music video.
Montage editing; This can be seen in a variety of different music video, and is very much a conventional method of editing, as it makes the video a lot more interesting as it adds variety to the other shots types that are already present in the video.
