8 Conventions of Indie POP

1. This is the first convention. I've noticed that female artists within this genre have there face almost bare apart from dark eyebrows and dark lipstick. This is the style they are trying to achieve or purely their style.

2. This is also present in this genre as I've seen different locations and narratives in their music videos.

3. Close ups to extreme close ups of the artists face. This is present in a lot of single artist music videos.

4. Tracking shots are used a lot in this genre also when the artist or artists are moving around.

5. In this genre it is often found that not only is a narrative being shown, the artist is playing a fictional character.

6. Due to their being some sort of story line or narrative there is an establishing shot at the start of a music video present in this genre.

7. Not only is close ups used of the artist in this genre they really play with showing the different angles of the artists face and body to how different dimension.

8. Female artists, which are the sub genre type we ware exploring more they make eye contact with the camera. This may be due to the story line or narrative being told it makes the auidnece feel more involved as if they are being directly spoke to.
